Contents page
- Most magazines acknowledge it is a contents page.
- One main image, with other smaller images of what is in the magazine.
- all have specific columns, it is organized.
- not everything in the magazine is numbered.
- pages are not organized numerically.
- all contents have a colour theme, can be the same as front cover but not always, theme connects with front cover, images and masthead.
- most mention the month and year - issue date.
- can be an editorial to connect with the audience.
- plain background.
- information on competitions.
- focuses on cover story.

- One main image.
- all masthead are situated at the top of the magazine.
- most prices on the right side of the magazine.
- the name of the main image (celebrity or band) is next or on top of the picture.
- Buzz word = plus/free/exclusive (not on high fashion magazines).
- well know magazine have the masthead overlaid with and image.
- most magazines have tag lines.
- all have a particular theme (design, due to cost issue).
- interview's.
- Main image and Main cover line.
- most magazines include other images (usually photographs).
- 2 to 3 different fonts, the masthead is in different font.
- central image relates to genre.
- banners with summary of information.
- between 6 to 10 cover lines.
- website address.
