Preliminary task: Codes and conventions for a magazine contents page

Contents page
  • Most magazines acknowledge it is a contents page.
  • One main image, with other smaller images of what is in the magazine.
  • all have specific columns, it is organized.
  • not everything in the magazine is numbered.
  • pages are not organized numerically.
  • all contents have a colour theme, can be the same as front cover but not always, theme connects with front cover, images and masthead.
  • most mention the month and year - issue date.
  • can be an editorial to connect with the audience.
  • plain background.
  • information on competitions.
  • focuses on cover story.
